I thought that Ben Judah (nytimes.com, March 7, 2014) was penetrating in his analysis of England’s establishment, but rather limited in his view of who they serve.

He set the tone: ‘LONDON — THE city has changed. The buses are still dirty, the people are still passive-aggressive, but something about London has changed. You can see signs of it everywhere. The townhouses in the capital’s poshest districts are empty; they have been sold to Russian oligarchs and Qatari princes.

England’s establishment is not what it was; the old imperial elite has become crude and mercenary‘.

He went on to describe how a careless civil servant was photographed outside Number 10, carrying an open document in his hand, which could be read … do not “close London’s financial center to Russians.” This was in the wake of events in Crimea.

This is were I think Ben Judah is too narrow in scope; his analysis – ‘It boils down to this: Britain is ready to betray the United States to protect the City of London’s hold on dirty Russian money. And forget about Ukraine’ – should include American and Saudi money, and money from most of the world’s other dictatorships.

Yes, ‘the British establishment understands that what matters are banks, not tanks’. Yes, ‘London is a center of corruption’, but for loot plundered from many countries which pours ‘into Britain’s empire of tax havens — from Gibraltar to Jersey, from the Cayman Islands to the British Virgin Islands — on which the sun never sets’.

Yes, ‘you pay them, you own them’.

‘And the Shard — the Qatari-owned, 72-floor skyscraper above the grotty Southwark riverside — is a symbol of that change. The Shard encapsulates the new hierarchy of the city. On the top floors, “ultra high net worth individuals” entertain escorts in luxury apartments. By day, on floors below, investment bankers trade incomprehensible derivatives.

Come nightfall, the elevators are full of African cleaners, paid next to nothing and treated as nonexistent. The acres of glass windows are scrubbed by Polish laborers, who sleep four to a room in bedsit slums. And near the Shard are the immigrants from Lithuania and Romania, who broke their backs on construction sites, but are now destitute and whiling away their hours along the banks of the Thames.

Here, in their capital city, the English are no longer calling the shots. They are hirelings‘.

How do the elite get away with this? As Preston James (veteranstoday.com,September 2, 2013) stated: ‘Karen Hudes, former high ranking counsel for the World Bank, has disclosed that at least five of the six American major mass media are owned by the six largest banks which means that they control public opinion by controlling what the major mass media dispenses to the public. … If you ever felt that you were being manipulated by the major mass media you were very perceptive because that is what has been happening and it is because the Banksters use the major mass media to dictate public opinion to meet their needs, which makes the major mass media almost completely controlled, that is why it makes sense to refer to it as the a Controlled Major Mass Media (CMMM)’.

The BBC is a fully paid up member of this club. It has the shameless cheek, in its information war against the Syrian government, to use ‘the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights’ as a source.

As reported by cifwatch.com (June 8, 2012), ‘the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) is a UK-based group opposed to the rule of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad. SOHR is run out of a two-bedroom terraced home in Coventry by one man using the name Rami Abdulrahman … So this “group” is nothing more than a one-man blogger operating out of one of the bedrooms in his two bedroom home in Coventry, England, reading and repackaging other peoples’ blogs and tweets’.

The BBC’s Newsnight programme again quoted this source today (30/9/2015) when reporting that the Russian airforce had dropped bombs on Syrian towns, killing civilians. They followed up this excuse for journalism with their mouthpiece asking a Labour Party shadow cabinet member whether Jeremy Corbyn would press the nuclear button if the Russians attacked Britain. Note the assumption of it being the Russian bogeyman attacking Britain, a direct throwback to the Orwellian scare-the-masses rhetoric of the 1980’s. Reading from the latest version of the American hymn book is called journalism in the ranks of the British CMMM! They get well paid for this, too! – rather more than African cleaners or Polish labourers!

Why do you think it so important for the British ruling elite to be busily negotiating a ‘hands-off-the-City-of-London’ deal with its European partners? Everything else being negotiated is nothing but a smokescreen used to fool the masses that the elite are trying to ‘get a better deal for Britain’.

The British ruling elite are members of a global banking cartel, consisting of central banks that are, in reality, privately owned companies, that create imaginary money out of thin air, encourage their citizens to borrow it, becoming bonded to debt, then package this debt into investment derivatives which are used to make massive bets on the future level of interest rates and commodities. When the bets go bad, no problem for the banking elite – economic depressions are used so that they can pick up more assets at huge discounts.

As Ben Judah wrote: ‘Here, in their capital city, the English are no longer calling the shots. They are hirelings’.

They are prostitutes of the Global Banking Cabal, for which they perform a vital service. Rather like being the money-launderers of the Mafia.

John McDonnel, Labour Party Shadow Chancellor, instead of saying you will make corporations pay a fraction of the taxes they owe, what about making the City of London get rid of the dirty loot it launders?, or pay a 1% tax on all the financial bets it makes?

Now, this really would be ‘New Politics’!
